JUNEKO STEELE, VICE PRESIDENT & COMMUNITY LIAISON (BOARD MEMBER)

Smiling man in white shirt and red striped tie.

I am a practicing physician with 17 years of experience in Texas and California. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving on several hospital and medical group boards, and I am honored to leverage this experience to enhance the quality of service at our athletic rehab clinic for local athletes. As a co-founder of ARC, I am passionate about our community outreach efforts to support underprivileged athletes in achieving their dreams.

As a lifelong Northern California resident passionate about community and helping others, I believe that participating in athletics is crucial and that access to good health care is essential. No youth in our community should lack access to these opportunities. I am thrilled to take on the role of VP for the athletic rehab clinic and work alongside fellow board members to enhance our community outreach efforts.

With over twenty years of experience in business management and leadership, I have navigated the spectrum from small company startups and acquisitions to managing large, mature organizations. In 2014, I chose to leave behind a successful 17-year executive career path in Corporate America with Corning Incorporated to establish the Corrective Exercise and Restoration (CE&R) in Sebastopol, CA.

My efforts have been dedicated to ensuring that CE&R offers the highest quality care in athletic training services throughout Sonoma County. Recognizing the needs of local underprivileged youth athletes who otherwise might lack access, I co-founded the Athletic Rehab Clinic (ARC).

Having spent years focused on back injury rehabilitation, I understand both the physical and emotional burdens that come with chronic or acute injuries. At ARC, our mission centers around providing holistic care tailored for local underprivileged students and athletes who are cancer survivors. As part of a dedicated team with board members who share this vision, I feel blessed to assist my patients in their journey to return to play swiftly, reinforcing our commitment to community outreach.

As the Club President and one of the Coaches of Black Oaks FC, I am excited to help our athletic rehab clinic, ARC, in its mission to support youth athletes in recovering and achieving their goals in sports and in life. Just as I believe young athletes can utilize sports to build confidence, mental toughness, and resilience throughout their lives, I know that ARC, along with its dedicated board members, is focused on getting these individuals back on the field and moving forward—ready for the first touch and the final whistle, as we say at Black Oaks, while also contributing to our broader community outreach efforts.

Having lived in Sonoma County for 25 years, I have seen firsthand how our community can benefit from an athletic rehab clinic. As a mother of three active boys involved in sports, I understand the character and life skills that participation can build, but I have also witnessed the debilitating effects of sports injuries. I'm thrilled to bring my volunteer experience with the Scouts, swim, and soccer teams to the board members at ARC, ensuring underprivileged youth receive excellent quality care through our community outreach efforts.

I am a proud Athletic Trainer excited to connect and provide care to those in our community through our athletic rehab clinic. My goal is to deliver quality care and dedicate my time to individuals who need our help but often struggle to find the necessary resources. I'm investing my efforts in an organization that fosters a healing environment while allowing me to engage both my head and heart. As a co-founder of ARC, I aim to be the arc that connects individuals to their highest achievements, and I appreciate the support of our dedicated board members who help us facilitate community outreach initiatives.

As an athletic trainer, I am dedicated to supporting and providing healthcare services to the community, a key aspect of raising public awareness about the diverse skill sets in our profession. Having proudly served my local community for over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, I remain committed to community outreach initiatives. This commitment led me to co-found ARC, where I took on the role of lead fundraiser, collaborating with board members to enhance our mission. I am excited about our athletic rehab clinic's efforts to provide healthcare services to youth, ensuring they can maintain their participation in sports while educating them on the importance of staying physically active.

As a cancer survivor, I understand firsthand how beneficial exercise can be to the healing process. That's why I remain committed to staying active in my life. I have a personal connection to the service ARC provides for young athletes who are struggling, and I’m grateful to be part of the board members who support our community outreach efforts. As a Senior Design Manager with over 20 years of experience in the CPG industry, I have held various leadership roles at Fortune 500 food and beverage manufacturing companies. My journey took a personal turn after witnessing my son endure multiple injuries while playing sports, which heightened my awareness of the importance of support from an athletic rehab clinic like ARC. Inspired by their commitment to helping young athletes, I decided to engage in community outreach initiatives and raise funds for ARC whenever possible, along with other board members who share the same mission.

As an attorney for the past 25 years and a lifelong athlete, I have the opportunity to merge my passion for public interest law and sports. After working as a public interest attorney, I took some time off to stay at home with my two kids. During that period, I became actively involved in youth sports in Sonoma County and recognized the critical need for equal access to high-quality athletic training. I am proud to be part of the ARC team, providing legal counsel to an athletic rehab clinic that is dedicated to community outreach and offering essential services in our community, along with the support of its board members.
